Your Weekend Sorted

I’ve found myself in the position of making a lot of recommendations lately. So, here I go again. Anyone who needs their weekend sorted, I’ve got five events for your consideration:

  • Thursday, March 28, The Nestival: Comedy + Arts Festival, produced by The Nest Theatre opens and runs through April 13. The Nest Theatre is in the University District and depending on when you go and whether you order your tickets in advance, admission will run between $10-$20.
  • Jeff Parker and the New Breed perform at the Wexner Center for the Arts Thursday. Tickets are $18 for the general public with special pricing for members and adults 55 and older.
  • Friday, March 29, Streetlight Guild is presenting a new art installation David Michael Butler I Idyll: Remix, opening with a reception 7-9 p.m. Columbus-based artist David Michael Butler reimagines his installation Idyll: Interlude with new written text by Scott Woods. The show is up through June 29 and other work, performances, and remixes will occur in conversation with the installation during the length of the exhibition. The gallery is open on Saturdays from 12-3 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Last week, MadLab opened Normies: A New American Musical and it runs through Saturday at their downtown theater. Tickets are $20 with special pricing for students and seniors.
  • Saturday, March 30, Natalie’s Grandview has a Sly and the Family Stone Music Tribute and Birthday Celebration on Saturday. Natalie’s is even offering a gift card prize for the best dressed (think 70s era funk) and most spirited. Sadly, they did not include a ticket link or info, but you can call them for details.

This is of course just a short list of recommendations. Find a whole events calendar chock full of fun things to do at ColumbusMakesArt.com.

The Wexner Center for the Arts is funded in part by a Greater Columbus Arts Council Operating Support Grant. MadLab’s season is funded in part by a Project Support grant.
