Classical / Recital / Modern
Noah Demland is a percussionist, music educator and composer.

As a misfit teenager growing up in Dayton, Ohio, he led a double musical life, balancing the demands of school ensembles, community orchestras, and private lessons while drumming for various bands in Dayton's underground music scene. This experience continues to inform his teaching philosophy and compositional style, as he seeks to compose works that are influenced by his classical percussion training and his roots in punk and underground music.

Demland holds the Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Percussion Performance from The Ohio State University, where he studied with Dr. Susan Powell.

In 2010, he was awarded an Arts Teachers Fellowship from the New York City-based Surdna Foundation, a program intended to support the artistic work and growth of arts educators. With the support of this fellowship, he traveled to Stockholm, Sweden to study composition with internationally-renowned percussion artist Anders Åstrand.

Demland is a member of Feverhead, where he has produced experimental music concerts and interdisciplinary performances, taught community percussion classes, and collaborated with local dance artists.

Since 2005, he has taught instrumental music at the Arts and College Preparatory Academy, where he has developed a unique music program that builds fundamental technique and musicianship while fostering creativity through student-driven projects.
