It's fun watching people react to my work! They have described it as "cute but frightful", "whimsical but scary" and "dark and humorous".  I paint a lot of characters, but the ones I enjoy and love the most, are the ones that are furry with sharp claws.  They are not exactly evil, although some of them may have some underlying meaning, but mostly, they are misunderstood.

I started painting with watercolors, carrying only knowledge from grade school.  I love watching the colors blend and it's wonderful seeing the end results. I work mostly with muted colors, Indian ink for black outline and I use a lot of white paint and gelly roll pens to add details.

I love collecting children's books, and I find myself reading these more often now than when I was a child. I love looking at the illustrations and adore them.  My works are mostly inspired by Guillermo del Toro, Tim Burton, Hayao Miyazaki, Carla Sonheim, and Yoshitomo Nara.
