Hey, everyone! I know we’re in the thick of it right now, but I’m taking comfort in the arts and all the new offerings we’re seeing virtually. We’re continuing to update the calendars at ColumbusMakesArt.com/Virtual with more and more events, educational resources and other goodies.
Here are my highlights for this week:
- Thursday, Apr. 9: Columbus Speaks hosts a live storytelling event on its Facebook page from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Apr. 9 and Sunday, Apr. 12: Jazz Arts Group hosts the next online concerts in its Offstage LIVE series starting at 6:30 p.m.
- Friday, Apr. 10: Amber Knicole and Walter K will stream a live concert from home on the AW Duo Facebook page at 8 p.m. They’re doing this every Friday night!
- CCAD has converted its annual Spring Art Fair to a virtual experience starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 10 and running through Sunday, Apr. 12 at midnight
- Saturday, Apr. 11 from 1-2 p.m., 934 Gallery celebrates a virtual opening of its newest exhibition, Red Thread with Emma Brown
- And on Saturday, Apr. 11, Bearthoven and the Johnstone Fund for New Music host a live-streamed concert on their respective Facebook pages
We’ve enjoyed some stunning spring days lately. Remember you can search the public art database to plot some outdoor adventures and discover great murals, sculptures and more.
And one other way you can support the arts: donate to the Arts Council’s Emergency Relief for Artists fund.
