Last week and this week we’ve seen businesses reopening with the necessary changes and precautions. This is true for some arts organizations as well – particularly galleries – but many events are still happening virtually. I searched the calendar on ColumbusMakesArt.com and found plenty of events happening this weekend!
- In addition to ongoing virtual tours, ROY G BIV Gallery has opened a couple new exhibitions you can see in person, including work by Nicki Crock and Emily Moores
- On Thursday, May 21, CATCO hosts a reading of Herb Brown’s play The Price of Power at 7 p.m.
- This Thursday CAPA also launches another round of their Together ApART concert series. Over the next three weeks they’re featuring local musicians Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. in little half-hour concerts. This week starts with Kyle Sowash, Carly Fratianne and George Barrie.
- The OSU Urban Arts Space wraps up a virtual exhibition of work from Jacklyn Brickman and Kathryn Logan, called Human Satellites / Vegetal Space this Saturday, May 23
- This Sunday, May 24, the Streetlight Guild hosts the next in its series of online concerts, this one featuring Joseph Krygier
- Brandt-Roberts Galleries put another one of its exhibitions, La Vie en Rose, online. It’s focused on contemporary and historical works that feature the color pink.
- The Wexner Center for the Arts continues streaming a wide variety of films, such as The Times of Bill Cunningham, Spaceship Earth and plenty more.
Stay safe, everyone! Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Stay safely distanced.
