For Immediate Release
Tuesday March 05, 2019

COLUMBUS, Ohio — As part of the Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art campaign, the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) is proud to announce the call for applications to participate in the fourth-annual Columbus Open Studio & Stage (COSS), which will take place Sept. 14-15, 2019.

COSS is a two-day, juried event that invites the public behind the scenes and into artists’ studios for an intimate look at art-making practices and an opportunity to meet and talk to Columbus’ creative talent.

Visual artists (2D and 3D) are invited to apply to participate in this creative event that provides an exclusive opportunity to connect with new audiences. The application is now open and the deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Apr. 12. There is no application fee.

To be considered, the artist’s studio space must be within the I-270 boundaries and be easily accessible to the public. Artists must agree to be open to the public during both days of the event (Sept. 14-15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day), and provide a volunteer to assist them during event hours. Artists must also plan demonstrations, works in progress or other engagement activities.

Participating artists will be considered for an exhibition at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Carnegie Gallery in September and October. COSS and the Arts Council, through the Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art citywide arts marketing initiative, will provide support materials, offer a workshop for participating artists, sell maps and market the event to ensure that participating artists have the opportunity to engage with and connect to a large audience of art enthusiasts.

Full application requirements and a form are available at columbusopenstudioandstage.com.
