Ohio State Dance
The Ohio State University Department of Dance is at the forefront of contemporary dance presenting professional level events for the Central Ohio public, encouraging active engagement with the art form through performances, lectures, special workshops and educational activities. Resident and visiting artists have international reputations and the dancers, selected from across the world, work deeply to advance the powerful art form of dance. Annual events include main stage concerts in the autumn and spring. Other events include a lectures on dance history, criticism, aesthetics, and relationships to technology and popular culture. The department offers Minor, BFA, MFA, and PhD degree programs.
The department recognizes a responsibility to build public understanding and appreciation of dance as a diverse creative, cultural and educational expressive art form. A commitment to cultural, racial and ethnic diversity is reflected throughout the curriculum and in recruitment of faculty, students and staff.
