OSU CBEC Installation
Leo Villareal seeks to deeply integrate his work with its site. Appropriate within the context of CBEC, which houses multiple departments and a range of disciplines, Villareal's artwork seeks a common denominator that is open to interpretation, inspires, and provokes thought. Fusing light, art, science, and technology in a way that is uniquely appropriate for its context, this installation brings art to the heart of the science and engineering neighborhood, engages the public, and creates a strong identity for CBEC. Leo is interested in lowest common denominators such as pixels or the zeros and ones in binary code. Using teh simplest forms, Villareal begins to build elements within a framework. His forms move, change, interact, and ultimately grow into complex organisms.
