Soy una "bailaora" de Flamenco. El Flamenco es un arte difícil de entender, sobretodo en el Midwest, donde no existe una tradicion asociada con España, pero basicamente todo esta asociado con la pasión q se transmite en cada uno de sus tres componentes: el cante, el baile y la música.

El flamenco es la forma en que me reconozco cada día; donde me busco y me encuentro, donde me pierdo y me identifico. A través de su música canalizo y expreso las emociones, sentimientos, ideas o inquietudes que me surgen.

El Flamenco es mi lenguaje, mi respiracion, mi alma, mi forma de vivir aunque a veces me produce fatigas. Lo enseño y lo amo.

Mi baile, es el modo en el que yo mando un mensaje, es mi forma de comunicarme con el publico y siempre estoy interesada en que mi mensaje trascienda, que la gente recuerde lo que yo hago, mis gestos y movimientos, que entiendan que estoy sufriendo, gozando o simplemente viviendo.

I am a Flamenco "Bailaora", which means dancer. Flamenco is a difficult art to understand, especially in the Midwest, where there is no tradition associated with Spain, but basically everything is associated with the passion that is transmitted in each of its three components: singing, dancing and music .

Flamenco is the way I recognize myself every day; where I search for myself and find myself, where I lose and identify myself. Through this music I channel and express the emotions, feelings, ideas or concerns that arise to me.

Flamenco is my language, my breath, my soul, my way of living, although sometimes it makes me tired. I teach it and I love it.

My dance is the way in which I send a message, it is my way of communicating with the public and I am always interested in making my message transcend, that people remember what I do, my gestures and movements, that they understand that I am suffering, enjoying or simply living.

Mi proceso creativo incluye la seleccion de la pieza musical que voy a interpretar. La busqueda por mejorar me hace considerar piezas cada vez mas dificiles, con mas rigor tecnico, ritmico y exigente para los movimientos.

Despues de ahi, empieza la fase de inspiración e ideas. El flamenco se puede interpretar con o sin letras, pero obviamente se prefiere que haya cante y asi se va creando el camino que voy a tomar. Tambien, en ese momento evaluo si va a ser un montaje solitario o con otras bailarinas. Despues de tener una idea clara, empiezo realizar la coreografia que pretendo poner en escena y para inspirarme tengo que ver muchas otras piezas de artistas que a lo largo de la historia del flamenco han interpretado una pieza musical del mismo tipo a la que yo escogi. En el Flamenco hay estructuras plenamente identificadas de acuerdo con el ritmo y me esfuerzo por conservar la estructura en la coreografia. Mi labor no solo es conmigo misma, sino muchas veces debo apoyar el trabajo de los musicos que me acompanan y dar ideas sobre los arreglos musicales para lograr la integracion entre el baile y la musica.

durante todo el proceso, siempre hay que seguir estudiando para mejorar tecnicamente la puesta en escena. Siempre, y creo que todos los artistas lo intentamos, estoy buscando superar la pieza inmediatamente anterior, siempre quiero mas complejidad y grado de dificultad, eso es lo me hace crecer.

A partir de ahi, comienza el proceso de falla y acierto que es lo que se hace en los ensayos. Algunas veces no podemos ensayar con la periodicidad que yo quisiera pero intento aprovechar hasta el ultimo minuto de los ensayos para enriquecer la pieza.

El resultado puede verse en escena, pero lo que yo busco solamente se logra despues de varias presentaciones, cuando ya la pieza esta debidamente acoplada entre el baile y la musica.

My creative process includes the selection of the musical piece that I am going to interpret. The search to improve makes me consider increasingly difficult pieces, with more technical, rhythmic and demanding rigor for movements.

After that, the inspiration and ideas phase begins. Flamenco can be interpreted with or without lyrics, but obviously it's preferred that there be a singer and that's how the path I'm going to take is created. Also, at that moment I evaluate if it is going to be a solo show or with other dancers.

After having a clear idea, I begin to perform the choreography that I intend to stage and to get inspired I have to see many other pieces by artists who throughout the history of flamenco have performed a piece of music of the same type as the one I chose. In Flamenco there are fully identified structures in accordance with the rhythm and I strive to preserve the structure in the choreography.

My work is not only with myself, but many times I must support the work of the musicians who accompany me and give ideas about musical arrangements to achieve integration between dance and music.

Throughout the process, you always have to continue studying to technically improve the staging. Always, and I think all artists try, I'm looking to surpass the immediately previous piece, I always want more complexity and degree of difficulty, that's what makes me grow.

From there, the process of failure and success begins, which is what is done in rehearsals. Sometimes we can't rehearse as often as I would like, but I try to take advantage of the last minute rehearsals to enrich the piece.

The result can be seen on stage, but what I am looking for is only achieved after several performances, when the piece is properly coupled between dance and music.

Yo decide con mi familia vivir en Columbus desde el ano 2014, desde que llegue he tenido la oportunidad de trabajar en mi area, la danza. Columbus me dio paz, felicidad, amor y sobre todo confianza. Yo no hablo bien English, pero eso no ha sido impedimento para recibir propuestas de trabajo y oportunidades de crecer. He podido tener mi propia voz y he encontrado en el camino personas que hoy soy mis amigos dispuestos ayudarme y guiarme en este dificil camino de la artes. En Columbus he bailado con muchos, he ensenados a cientos, he reido y llorado y sobre todo he vivido de mi danza. Columbus me fortalecio mi autoestima, mi autoconfianza dandome la oportunidad de mostrarme como soy. Me ha permitido trabajar en equipo, crear, equivocarme y volver a comenzar. No cambiaria Columbus por ninguna parte del mundo. Asi que Gracias a todos los que han sido parte de mi proceso aqui.

I decided with my family to move Columbus in 2014. Since I arrived, I have had the opportunity to work in my area, dance. Columbus gave me peace, happiness, love and above all confidence. I don't speak English well, but that hasn't been an impediment to receiving job offers and opportunities to grow. I have been able to have my own voice and along the way I have met people who are now my friends willing to help and guide me on this difficult path of the arts. In Columbus I have danced with many, I have taught hundreds, I have laughed and cried and above all I have lived from my dance. Columbus strengthened my self-esteem, my self-confidence, giving me the opportunity to show myself as I am. It has allowed me to work as a team, create, make mistakes and start over.
