My work expresses visual degeneration, physical pain and loss. In my work I intend to imbue the visceral experience of memory. To do so I blur, evolve, and reconstruct the human form with visual blockages and barriers.
I intend the viewer to undergo an experience of mental tension. The tension is heightened, as the figures seem to be at a pivotal point, undergoing change, where retrieval or complete lost are about to take place. These images illustrate the how quickly identity can wiped away, be it by alteration, death or simply by being forgotten. -Stephanie E. Steele
