Katie Davis

Katie Davis is a Singer Songwriter from Columbus, Ohio (Clintonville).

Katie graduated from Capital University's Conservatory of Music in 2013 with a Degree in Music Technology (Audio Engineering).  Being a Sound Engineer, Katie is able to express her creativity from the time she writes a song in her home studio all the way through the production details of a professional recording studio. 

Katie’s original songs are relevant to her life experiences as a young adult in search of purpose, love and vocation with all the struggle and joy along the way.  Katie’s debut EP entitled “Steal My Heart” is an acoustic string powerhouse with upbeat melodies and vocal harmonies including songs of love, betrayal, broken promises, and new beginnings.  Katie’s EP assembled some of her favorite Columbus musicians including Will Freed, Chris Shaw, Steven Fox, and Sam Walls.  Joe Viers recorded, mixed and mastered Katie’s EP as owner of Sonic Lounge Studios. 

Katie is shaped by her love of music.  Her sound track started with her parent’s record collection full of folk classic and easy listening rock of the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, and 60/70’s Singer Songwriters the likes of Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Joni Mitchell, Bob Seger, Carly Simon and Carole King.  

Classic Country had the greatest gravitational pull for Katie with artist such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Crystal Gayle, and Dolly Parton.  Classic Country with its folk roots, great songwriting, history of female artists, loved by all ages, and yet weirdly on the fringe these days proved irresistible.  Nancy Sinatra, “These Boots are made for Walking” - who could not love such songwriting. 

 Katie loves the music of Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Joni Mitchell, LeAnn Rimes, Jewel and Alison Krauss. Somewhere in-between the sound of these key influences is where Katie hopes to land with a sound that is ultimately recognizable as pure Katie and uniquely her own.
