Rachel Shi

Rachel is a Columbus-based artist working primarily in the drawing and painting media while also working as a researcher at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Using a combination of live observation, her photography, and reference sources to create her work, Rachel aspires to create work that relate to nature, the human figure, and landscapes that resonate with her personally. She first acquired her meticulous technique from detail-oriented art classes in her youth and then began to explore symbolic, personal meanings of her art in college. She has many passions and can be called a traveler, pianist, photographer, student, and scientist. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Great Barrington, MA and is from Dallas, TX.
