I’m happy you’re here.

I’m happy I’m here to share my craft with you, the people I love, whether we know each other or not. Life, and art making, is meant to be shared and saturated with curiosity, risk, whimsy and love. Illustrating is a way to show you precious moments from my life and my studio practice.

The name, Trace Ohio Illustrations, is really about my creative process. My imagination is most active when I’m outside - observing and engaging with plants, people and animals throughout Ohio. Whether I drive to an Ohio farm to explore or am sitting outside picking clover in my own yard, each experience is equally fulfilling. These experiences fuel my curiosity, lead to questions and then experimentation.

I spend hours gathering and playing with plant material to better understand their properties before I begin a collection. I use the plant material to create intentional, abstract botanical print compositions. Each print is one of a kind and is a depiction of pigment and shape impressions. The initial print experiments serve as thank you tokens to friends and family throughout the year.

Speaking of thank you’s - thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and Trace Ohio Illustrations. Thank you for supporting me, my life and my artwork.
