We experiment with art, science and technology to create sterling silver and acrylic jewelry. Our designs are organic and geometric; often with a science theme. We integrate new tools like laser cutting and 3D printing with traditional techniques like acid-etching, spin-casting and hand painting in the creation of our pieces. We draw inspiration from ancient cultures and modern design styles, merging them into works that echo our collective legacy.
JD Davison and JD Shipengrover are collaborators in the creation of The Lab Partners jewelry. Our work is the result of a deeply interactive process. Both of us are involved in each step from initial inspiration, through design iteration to finished piece. Each partner performs multiple, varied tasks in the completion of each piece.
