Johnae Spain

Johnae Spain is an artist whose experience spans over 10 years as a classically trained violinist and a professionally trained hip hop dancer. She has traveled and performed with TRANSIT ARTS throughout Columbus as a hip hop dancer where she has had the opportunity to perform on a variety of stages. As a violinist, Johnae has an extensive history performing throughout the Columbus community with her most notable performances being the side-by-side Messiah concert with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, playing as a first violinist in the OMEA South Central Regional Orchestra, and playing as the first violinist in several community pit orchestras. Now, Johnae has expanded her range as a musician and is experimenting with different genres and styles of playing to find her stylistic voice. Her passion for the arts goes beyond performing, leading her to develop a pop strings workshop offered through TRANSIT ARTS where she hopes to motivate and inspire young people to express themselves through music.
