It’s shaping up to be another busy week in the Columbus arts! I scanned the calendars on ColumbusMakesArt.com and here are some of the highlights I discovered. There’s so much to keep track of!
Wednesday, June 21
- We’re attending singer-songwriter Aaron Espe’s living room concert. Should be a fun evening!
Thursday, June 22
- Megan Palmer plays Charlie’s Stage at Natalie’s.
- The Columbus Symphony performs one of its summer concerts at Peace UMC in Pickerington.
- Actors’ Theatre opens its newest production in Schiller Park: Sense & Sensibility.
Friday, June 23
- The Ladies of Longford play Grove City’s Summer Sizzle Concert Series.
- The Symphony is busy this week! Their youth-focused Popcorn Pops concert at the Columbus Commons includes a performance from Momentum.
- On Friday and Saturday, Two Scoops Performance Art Co. presents What’s Going On?, a tribute to Elijah McClain, at Columbus Dance Theatre.
- Powell Festival runs June 23-24 and features live music, kid’s activities and more.
- All weekend Gateway Film Center features two great entries in its Cult 101 series: Amelie and Spirited Away.
- It’s the weekend of ComFest! Head to Goodale Park for three days of music, food and community fun.
Saturday, June 24
- Visit the Ohio Theatre Saturday morning for Cartoon Capers with CAPA.
- The Symphony performs the third night in a row, this time at Picnic with the Pops featuring Super Diamond.
- Catch a musical improv show at the Nest Theatre.
- The inaugural Gravity Mural Fest is this Saturday and Sunday, bringing two days of live painting, music, artist talks, family activities and more to Franklinton.
Sunday, June25
- Sunday afternoon TRANSIT ARTS offers a free show with an amazing lineup: Barbara Fant, Kaleem and Tyiesha Radfort Shorts.
- Capriccio Columbus performs Mozart’s Coronation Mass at the Lincoln Theatre.
- The Last Waltz tribute band performs in Worthington’s Concerts on the Green.
CAPA, Columbus Symphony and Gateway Film Center receive Operating Support grants from GCAC, while Actors’ Theatre and Capriccio receive General Support.
