I did a double take this week when I looked at the calendar and realized our kids start school IN LESS THAN A MONTH. This summer is going by too quickly! All the more reason to be deliberate about our time. So I scanned the calendars on ColumbusMakesArt.com to plan our weekend and here’s what I found:
- Claire Maloney and the Great Adventure play at the Rambling House Wednesday, July 19.
- Catch the Music of Motown at the Hinson Amphitheater in New Albany on Thursday, July 20.
- That night the Westerville Public Library hosts author Ethan Avery.
- Evolution Theatre opens One Show, Two Plays at the Abbey Theatre of Dublin on July 20 and runs through July 29.
- That same night Actors’ Theatre opens its latest summer production: Love’s Labor’s Lost.
- Friday, July 21, the band 50 Steps Up performs at Grove City’s Summer Sizzle series.
- Sisters of Swing perform for JazZoo at the Columbus Zoo on July 21 as well.
- Imagine Productions of Columbus opens a production of Pippin on Friday, July 21 and performs it through July 30.
- Summer festival season continues this weekend with Jazz & Ribs Fest on the riverfront, July 21-23.
- The Columbus Symphony has another busy weekend, with a superhero-themed Popcorn Pops on Friday at the Commons, Picnic with the Pops featuring Ben Folds on Saturday, and a Summer Night Music performance in Marysville on Sunday.
- The Whirlybirds perform in this week’s Goodale Park Music Series on Sunday, July 23.
Columbus Symphony and Jazz Arts Group receive Operating Support grants from GCAC, while Actors’ Theatre receives General Support. Evolution Theatre, Imagine Productions and the Short North Foundation (producer of the Goodale Park Music Series) are Project Support grantees.
