Use Policy

The Walker Bruck pocket park sits on the former site of a small dry goods store owned and operated by the Walker family. Established in the 1930s, the store was named Betty Ann’s after the family’s daughter. Open until the 1970’s, the store later became a carryout in the 1990’s, and burned in a fire in 1997. The site then fell into disrepair until Betty Ann Walker and the City of Columbus … with funds provided by the Merion-Southwood Community Reinvestment Area program … agreed to work with neighborhood residents to turn the lot into a pocket park. The Urban Achievers 4H group and neighborhood residents maintain the pocket park.
