This building was built by Amelia Maurer for $3,000 in 1877 as both a business and second floor living space. The building to the rear of the site, Now home to the Book Loft -- a 32-room labyrinth of books that stretches the entire lot to City Park Avenue – the building has also been used through the years as a theatre, church, doll hospital, art studio, antique store, and an indoor golf course.
